Earthquake Research: Hazard Maps

The Nation Hazard Maps show the calculations of the level of US ground’s shaking by certain earthquakes in the future.

To make these maps needs geologic information, data of earthquakes in the past, and so on.

New geodetic, faults, or data of earthquakes update the maps.

They are useful for building highway bridges, planning how to develop some areas

The judgment on safety of a building depends on information from these maps.
